Locality: US: MO: Dent, Shannon, Texas, Carter Counties: Ozark National Scenic Riverways Abstract: This report is based on a survey of the vegetation of the Ozark National Scenic Riverwasy conducted during the period of 27 June to 12 October, 1969. The primary objective of this survey was to obtain as much information about the plant life along the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers as funds and time permitted. This information has been used to list and discuss the diversity of plant communities present and, with the aid of aerial photographs, to prepare a vegetationa map of the Scenic Riverways. Detailed descriptions of each area studied and summary discussions of the types of plant communities, including old fields, found along the Scenic Rivers are contained in the body of this report. Areas that were found to have rare or unique plants are identified and recommended for special protection. Finally, during the course of this study many propblems and questions developed for whtich tere are at the present time, no answers. Additional research is recommended in these areas.
