United States, Florida, Alachua, Morningside Nature Center, 3540 E University Ave. Degraded sandhill near disturbed mesic mixed oak/pine woodlands (4A, 4B). Shrub, ca. 80-100 cm. Twigs of season verrucose, glabrous. Leaves abaxially glaucous, glabrous. Corolla white. Stamens included. This lone, atypical, strongly glaucous Vaccinium specimen was found in degraded sandhill near the northern fenceline with the farm and may be an escaped cultivated Vaccinium from the farm. It does not seem to fit any of the species concepts for native species of Vaccinium section Cyanococcus: V. caesariense, V. darrowii, V. elliottii, V. formosum, V. fuscatum, V. myrsinites, V. tenellum, V. virgatum. Another possibility is that it is of hybrid origin. 29°39'25.8"N 82°16'24.7"W.
