USA, Arizona, Cochise County, Small tributary of Garden canyon at a point 1.41km SE of Cave Spring, Huachuca Mtns, Fort Huachuca Military Reservation, Growing at base of Large, overhanging boulder in bottom of tirbutary ravine. Moderately moist and permanently shaded. Deep soilderived by in situ and alluvial processes from Pre-Cambrian granite, Bolsa Quartzite, Abrigo, Martin & Escabrosa Limestones, Tertiary diorite and organic detritus. Slope about 25degrees; facing North, This is the only known colony in Cochise Co, (1/2 by 2 meters), associated with Senecio, Heuchera, Quercus, Yucca, Vitis, and Sumphoricarpos. In the evergreen oak woodland. Ten relatively-intact sporangia from the frond on the right yielded approximately 64 spores each., 31.48318 -110.332463
