Perigynia unusually narrow and more similar to Carex hyalinolepis in shape, but that species has glabrous perigynia and scabrous-awned pistillate scales, while this material has pubescent perigynia and smooth-margined pistillate scales, more like Carex striata. Achenes apparently aborted or not fully developed. Possible hybrid between Carex striata and Carex hyalinolepis (?) 30°08'07.8"N 84°15'12.9"W.
