Growing in openings in Brewer's oak with Aesculus californica, Quercus kelloggii, and Philadelphus lewisii. The plants are not so dense that you can't walk through or crawl through. Most of the plants are still in bud, but this one was in flower. N aspect, steep slope., 860m
