Obs.: Absolutely the largest population I have ever seen, unfortunately mostly protected behind formidable barbed wire fence, but in tall grass prairie situations, truely a rare sight. 1 or 2 bumble bees and wavy carpenter bees, also saw hummingbird. Good cyto. material present. Along TX Farm Rd. 1187 West, 8.5 miles west of Crowley, on south-side of road in prairie area adjacent to fence and railroad tracks, in full sun in black prairie soil.
