Small opening in the forest with Danthonia unispicata, Festuca idahoensis, Arctostaphylos patula, Calocedrus decurrens, Quercus kelloggii, Quercus chrysolepis. Light color clay soils. Nectary shape varies, square, to chevron to upside down chevron (heart), densely-orange-short-hairy. Plants much smaller than as described (12-30 cm).
