Internodes short, 3 cm diameter, cataphyll fibrous persistent, petiole deeply & narrowly sulcate; blade coriaceous, dark green, semiglossy above, much paler & markedly punctate below, midrib raised above, paler than surface, acutely raised below paler than surface, primary lateral veins sunken above, slightly raised below, tertiary venation visible above, obscure below, inflorescence, peduncle terete, spathe pale green, matte, lightly tinged with purple, inside, medium green, semi-glossy outside, reflexed, curled; spadix grey, S-curved, flowers 7 per spiral, rhombic, 4-4.5 mm long parallel to axis, 3-3.5 mm wide perpendicular to axis, pistil rectangular, green. Stigma, sessile slit.
