Annual herb to 4 in. tall, corolla tube-throat yellow, lobes whitish and tinged with light pinkish borders. Meadow habitats in mixed conifer forest dominated by Pinus jeffreyi, Calocedrus decurrens, Pinus monticola, Quercus vacciniifolia, Arctostaphylos patula, and Frangula rubra; plants occur in open patches among dense herbaceous meadow vegetation, mainly along drying margins of seasonally wet areas. Associated species include Trifolium longpipes spp. elmeri, Cirsium sp, Sisyrinchium bellum, Castilleja sp, Perideridia sp, and Erythranthe pulsiferae., 244m
