Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge is home to many native Texas wildlife and plants, and was specifically established to protect the nesting grounds of the black-capped vireo and the endangered golden-cheeked warbler. BCNWR is a local herbarium for specimens collected at Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife and surrounding areas in Burnet, Travis, and Williamson Counties, Texas, USA. The collection was digitized by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) in 2022 under NSF Grant #1902078.
