Glabrous to somewhat scabro-hirtellous, 3-10 dm, often sweetly aromatic; lvs relatively thin and lax, linear or nearly filiform, 1-3(-4) mm wide, (15-)20-50 times as long as wide, 1-nerved or also with a pair of weak lateral nerves, very often with well developed axillary fascicles; many or most of the heads commonly pedunculate; invol 3-4.5(-5) mm, evidently resinous, mostly 10-21-fld; rays ca 2 mm, spreading; 2n=18.
