Plant perennial. Stems erect, up to 85 cm tall, glabrous to slightly pubescent. Leaves cauline, petioles 1-30 mm long; blades ovate to ovate-lanceolate; margins minutely serrate; tip acute to acuminate; base cuneate to attenuate. Flowers racemose; pedicels 3-14 mm long, pubescent; hypanthium 1.2-2.5 mm long; nectar spurs absent; calyx lobes 1.3-5.5 mm long, erect and denticulate; corollas pink-purple to nearly white, the tube 10-16.5 mm long, with dorsal slit, without lateral "windows" near base; staminal column 13-15 mm long, 2 lower anthers white bristled at tips. Fruit about 3/4+ inferior, prominently veined, deflexed, 2.5-3.5 mm long. Seeds ellipsoid and shiny. Editor: MBarrera 2024.

Habitat: Secondary Forest, tropical dry forest, and cloud forest, between 153-700m in elevation.

Distribution: Puebla and Veracruz, Mexico.

 

Planta perenne. Tallos erectos, 85 cm de altura, glabros a pubescentes. Hojas caulinares, pecíolo 1-30 mm de largo; láminas ovadas a ovada-lanceolada; márgenes serrado; punta aguda a acuminada; base cuneada a atenuada. Flores racimosos; pedicelos 3-14 mm de largo, pubescentes; hipanto 1.2-2.5 mm de largo; esponoles de nectar ausentes; lóbulos de cáliz 1.3-5.5 mm de largo, erectos y denticulado; corola de color rosa-violeta o casi blanca, el tubo 10-16.5 mm de largo, con raja dorsal, sin "ventanas" laterales cerca de la base; columno estaminal 13-15 mm de largo, 2 anteras inferiores con cerdas blancas en la punta. Fruto aproximadamente 3/4+ inferior, prominentemente veteado, deflexo, 2.5-3.5 mm de largo. Semillas elipsoides y lustrosa. Editora: MBarrera 2024.

Hábitat: Secundaria; Bosque tropical perennifolio y bosque nuboso, entre 153-700m de altura.

Distribución: Puebla y Veracruz, México.
