Plants annual. Stems up to 50 cm, erect, highly branched at the base. Leaves mostly in basal rosette, some cauline leaves present; blades bipinnatifid, the margins deeply lobed, the tip rounded, the base attenuate. Flowers in a terminal raceme; pedicels 15-45 mm, glabrous; hypanthium 1-1.5 mm; nectar spurs absent; calyx lobes 1-2 mm, margins entire, ascending; corollas blue, purple, or white tinged with purple, the tube 2-3 mm, with a dorsal slit but without lateral “windows”; filament tube ca. 2 mm, the two lower anthers with stiff bristles at the tips. Fruit ¾ inferior, ascending at maturity, 3-4.5 mm long. Seeds smooth and ellipsoid. Editor: I. Andrade-Munoz 2025. 
 
Habitat: Steep slopes and along streams, in moist Liquidambar-Quercus forests at 1450-1650 m elevation. 
Distribution: Endemic to Hidalgo. 
 
Plantas anuales. Tallos hasta 50 cm, erectos, muy ramificados a la base. Hojas por mayor parte en una roseta basal, algunas hojas caulinares presentes; láminas bipinnatífidas, los márgenes profundamente lobulados, la punta redondeada, las base atenuada. Flores en un racimo terminal; pedicelos 15-45 mm, glabros; hipanto 1-1.5 mm; esponoles de néctar ausentes; lobulos del caliz 1-2 mm, márgenes enteros, ascendiendo, corolas azules, moradas, o blancas con tintas moradas, el tubo 2-3 mm, con una raja dorsal pero sin “ventanas” laterales; tubo de los filamentos ca. 2 mm, las dos anteras inferiores con pelos erizados en las puntas. Fruto ¾ inferior, ascendiendo a la madurez, 3-4.5 mm de largo. Semillas lisas y elipsoides. Editora: I. Andrade-Munoz 2025. 
 
Hábitat: Colinas inclinadas y a lados de arroyos, en bosques mesófilos Liquidambar-Quercus a 1450-1650 m elevación. 
Distribucion: Endemico a Hidalgo.
