All but two of my specimens were intimately associated with beech and were found on dry, wooded, beech slopes or in the "flats" with beech. The label on my Rush County specimens reads "common on a beech ridge two and a half miles west of Gowdy." I found a single specimen in a "post oak flat" about 10 miles southwest of Mt.
