Peduncles (3-)5-20 mm, stipitate-glandular (at least distally). Disc corollas ca. 5 mm. Cypselae 2.5-3.5 mm; pappus bristles 1-3 mm. 2n = 38. Flowering mostly spring and fall (following rains). Gypseous and calcareous soils in creosote bush scrub-lands; 700-1300 m; N.Mex., Tex.; Mexico (Chihuahua).
