Vascular plants of NE US and adjacent Canada
Diffusely branched shrub to 5 dm, rooting below, bearing short, 2- lvd branches in most axils, the lvs therefore appearing whorled; lvs linear, 1-2 cm, revolute, green and glabrous above, finely gray-tomentose beneath; fls 1-3 in several upper axils, on pedicels 3 mm; cal glandular- hirsutulous, 7-8 mm, the lobes of the lower lip slightly surpassing the upper; cor lavender or pink, spotted within, 15-18 mm. Sandy riverbanks in the Cumberland Mts.; e. Ky. and e. Tenn. May, June. (C. montana)
