Much like no. 2 [Melilotus officinalis (L.) Pall.], but sometimes short-lived perennial, and with pubescent, reticulate-veined, mostly 2-seeded frs 5-6 mm; 2n=16. Native of Eurasia, adventive here and there in our range.
