Stems prostrate, to 1 m or more, uncinate-puberulent and with longer spreading hairs; stipules ovate- to lance-acuminate, 4-8 mm; petioles 2.5-5 cm; lfls appressed-hairy on both sides and sometimes with a few hooked hairs, the terminal one ovate or rhombic, 5-7 נ3-5 cm; racemes axillary and terminal, branching; fls 7-9 mm, on pedicels to 9 mm; articles 3 or 4, 6-8 נ4-5 mm, deltoid (the upper suture straight) or rhombic (both sutures angled). Dry sandy woods; Mass. to Md.; s. Mo. July, Aug. (D. glabellum, misapplied)
