sessile or, rarely, stipitate, orbicular or orbicular-ovate, smooth, strongly latiseptate; valves not veined or obscurely veined; replum slightly flattened; septum complete, (hyaline); stigma capitate.
Seeds
flattened, broadly winged, orbicular; seed coat (coarsely reticulate at center), not mucilaginous when wetted; cotyledons accumbent.
