Bulbs oblique-ovoid, 0.7-1.2 cm; outer coats brown to gray-brown, breaking with serrate edges, cells of reticulum V-shaped. Flowers 7-12 mm; tepals lance-ovate, apex acute to obtuse. 2n = 14.

Flowering late May--early Aug. Clay soils, including serpentine; 50--1000 m; Calif., Oreg.
