Much like no. 10 [Vicia villosa Roth]; stem and lvs appressed-hairy to glabrate; racemes mostly 5-15-fld; cal-lobes a little shorter, scarcely villous; pod ±pubescent, varying to glabrous; 2n=14. Native of s. Europe, intr. in fields, roadsides and waste places at scattered stations from Me. to Mont., s. to Ga. and Calif. May-Aug. (V. villosa ssp. eriocarpa and var. glabrescens)
