Petiole glabrous, not viscid-glandular, rarely white-farinose proximally. Blades thin and herbaceous (but not leathery), not viscid-glandular, abaxially densely white-farinose, adaxially with scattered yellow capitate glands. Distal pinnae mostly regularly lobed. Proximal basiscopic lobes of basal pinnae pinnatifid, often deeply so. 2 n = 60, 120.
Desert scrub and in pine and oak woodlands; 100--2500 m; Ariz., Calif., N.Mex.; Mexico in Baja California, Sonora.
