Perennial, 1-3 dm, with dense basal rosettes; basal lvs stiff, sessile, obovate-oblong to narrowly oblong-spatulate, 1-3 cm, ciliate at base, sharply but finely serrate, each tooth with a minute, lime-encrusted pore; cymes several-fld, often elongate; pet white, 3-4 mm; 2n=28. Circumboreal, s. to N.S., N.H., Vt., Mich., and Minn. July. (Chondrosea a.)
