Family: Asteraceae Prickly-Goldenfleece Zachery Berry	FNA Resources John L. Strother in Flora of North America (vol. 19, 20 and 21) Leaves: proximal blades 8-15 × 3-5+ cm, distal 4-8+ × 1-3+ cm. Peduncles 5-15+ cm. Phyllaries: free portions lance-linear, abaxial faces setose or ± glabrate. Cypselae (including beaks) 10-15 mm; pappi 9-12 mm. 2n = 8, 10. Flowering Apr-Jul. Disturbed sites; 0-400 m; introduced; Calif.; Europe; Asia; also introduced in South America, s Africa.
