Hideaki Ohba in Flora of North America (vol. 8)
Plants 10-30 cm. Rosette leaf blades 8-13 × 3-3.5 mm. Flowers: sepals 4-5 mm; petals 9-9.2 mm.

Flowering spring-fall. Bluffs, cliffs, flat outcroppings; 0-20 m; B.C.; Oreg., Wash.

Variety nesioticum occurs in westernmost Canada and United States, on islands in the Puget Sound and the Straits of Georgia, and adjacent Vancouver Island. The relatively large plants flower approximately two weeks later in the season than do those of var. lanceolatum because the coldness of the adjacent ocean retards flower initiation.
