Stems 6-10 dm, glabrous or the angles with a few short, stiff, reflexed hairs; lvs very thin, oblong-ovate or lance-ovate, 8-15 cm, a third to half as wide, acuminate, crenate- serrate, broadly rounded to cordate at base, sparsely and minutely hairy; petioles 1-3 cm, smooth above; cal-tube 4 mm, the lobes half as long (or a little more), deltoid-acuminate to an aristate tip.
