My only specimen was collected on a black oak and Virginia pine slope about 2 miles northwest of Bennettsville in Clark County. On this same slope I collected the following hybrids, all of which were named by Dr. Brainerd: V. × cordifolia, V. × dissita, and V. hirsutula × missouriensis.
