Leaves: ocrea prominently veined, (6.5-)8-12 mm, distal part disintegrating, veins persistent, brown; blade green, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, 5-8 times as long as wide. Flowers: perianth 3.5-5.5 mm; tepals slightly overlapping, green with pink margins, oblong to obovate, apex flat, flared. Achenes with apex exserted 1-2.5 mm from perianth, 4.1-5.5(-6.5) mm, 1.5-2.6 times as long as wide, ± smooth.

Flowering Jul-Oct. Coastal beaches, dunes, and shores; 0-10 m; introduced; N.S.; Europe.
