LEAVES: petioles 30‑160 mm long; blades 25‑45 mm long, 35‑75 mm wide, the segments spatulate to linear in outline; apices acute to mucro tipped; bases truncate to reniform. FLOWERS: sepals to 7 mm long; lowest petal (including spur) 13‑25 mm long. FRUITS: 8‑13 mm long. NOTES: See also parent taxon. Coniferous forests: Apache co.; 2400 m (7800 ft); May‑Jun; normally of prairie habitats, rarely in open woods. REFERENCES: Little, R. John. Violaceae. 2001. J. Ariz. - Nev. Acad. Sci. Volume 33(1).
