PLANT: Rosettes (20-)30-60 cm high, 40-100 cm broad, single or sparingly caespitose. LEAVES: numerous, (25-)27-50 cm long, 3-5.5 cm wide, lanceolate, usually straight or upcurved, dark green to bluish gray glaucous; teeth 2-4 cm apart, the terminal spine 2-4 cm long. INFLORESCENCE: with scape 3.5-5 m tall, 4.5-7 cm in diameter, narrowly paniculate, moderately to very dense, with several to numerous lateral branchlets, the longer ones 7-10 cm long, the flowering stalk thickish. FLOWERS: in clusters of 4-12, (26-)29-43 mm long; ovary 16-29 mm long. 2n = 60. NOTES: Open rocky, usually limestone slopes of Mohave and Great Basin desert scrub and Great Basin conifer woodland: Coconino, Mohave cos.; 700-2400 m (2300-7800 ft); May-Jul.
