Vascular plants of NE US and adjacent Canada
Stems ±erect, nearly simple, 5-10 dm, sericeous; petioles 4-10 mm; lfls narrowly oblong, 2-4 cm נ3-7 mm, obtuse and mucronate, sparsely appressed- pubescent above, sericeous beneath; spikes slender, loose and interrupted, 2-3 cm, on peduncles 1-2 cm; fls 4-6 mm, ochroleucous, the cor about equaling the cal; fr densely villous, equaling the cal. Dry prairies; n. Ill., s. Wis., n. Io., and s. (rarely c.) Minn. Late summer.
