Much like no. 16 [Polygala cruciata L.], the stems more slender, with longer branches; racemes elevated on a distinct peduncle, the one terminating the main axis usually 1-3 cm; fls pale rose-purple; wings ovate, 3-3.5 נ1.5-2.5 mm, minutely apiculate or obtuse. Sandy swamps on the coastal plain; N.J. to Fla. and Miss. July-Sept.
