Much like no. 1 [Verbascum blattaria L.], but often perennial; lvs commonly sparsely hairy beneath; pedicels 1-2.5 cm; cor purple, 2-3 cm wide; 2n=32, 36. Native of Eurasia, established as a weed in waste places on L.I. May-Aug.
