Bulbs never rhizomatous, ovoid. Leaves usually persistent; blade 10-40 cm. Scape usually persistent, not strongly flattened or winged, 10-40 cm. Umbel 10-50-flowered; spathe bracts 2-3. Flowers 8-10 mm; tepals erect, apex acute; stamens ± equaling tepals or exserted; ovary crestless; pedicel 8-20 mm. 2n = 42.
Flowering Apr--Jul. Rocky, gravelly, or clay soils; 700--800 m; Idaho.
