Eriogonum hoffmannii var. hoffmannii

Plants 0.5-5 dm. Leaves basal; petiole 1-5 cm; blade 1-4 × 2-4 cm, margins entire. 2n = 40.

Flowering Jul-Sep. Sandy to gravelly slopes, sagebrush communities, pinyon-juniper woodlands; 1000-1700 m; Calif.

Variety hoffmannii is restricted to the Panamint Mountains in the Towne Pass and Wildrose Canyon areas of Inyo County.
