Plants 2-7(-10) cm. Leaves usually opposite; petioles 0-2 mm; blades ovate or ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, margins entire or subserrate, faces glabrate; pappi of 2 bristles. 2n = 34.

Flowering spring-fall. Limestone caprocks; of conservation concern; 1200-1300 m; Tex.

Variety bisetosa appears to be restricted to a relatively small area in extreme southern Pecos County and adjacent Brewster County.
