Family: Fabaceae Hybrid Locust [Gleditsia hebecarpa, more]	Indiana Flora Resources From Flora of Indiana (1940) by Charles C. Deam This species was first found in Gibson and Knox Counties and was considered a hybrid of the preceding species. Later Sargent described it as a species from a colony found in Texas. In 1921 I found a fine specimen in a cornfield under which there were hundreds of 1-year seedlings which proves that if this form is a hybrid it is a fertile one. I have made no effort to determine the abundance of this species. It is, no doubt, restricted to the southwestern counties and may be very rare since I have seen only a few trees. ......
