Stems 1.8-3.5(-4.5) dm, moderately to sparsely pub-escent proximally, usually glabrous distally. Fruiting pedicels (7-)10-25 mm, usually glabrous (or sometimes with a few scattered trichomes). Fruits (4.5-)7-10 cm. 2n = 14.

Flowering Mar-Jun. Rocky areas in woodlands; 300-1200 m; Calif., Oreg.
