Erect or ascending, short-lived perennial, 3-6 dm, little branched below the infl; sep at anthesis not more pubescent than the pedicels, 4-6 mm; pet 7-10 mm, deeply notched; fr 15-20 mm, the carpel-bodies strigose, not wrinkled. Native of Europe, rarely adventive in our range. May-Sept.
