Dioecious; fls in small clusters on twigs of the previous year, the pistillate ones usually few; sep greenish-yellow within; fls with an 8-lobed disk at the summit of the hypanthium; stamens 8, alternating with the lobes of the disk; pistillate fls with the hypanthium constricted at the summit; fr ±berry-like, without a well developed stone; lvs opposite.
