Plants 20-90 cm. Stems coarsely hirsute and stipitate-glandular. Leaves: petioles 0-4 mm; blades relatively thick, (15-)17-22(-25) × 4-7 mm, margins entire, crenate, or serrate (and strigillose), faces scabrous, gland-dotted.

Flowering Jul-Oct. Stream bottoms; of conservation concern; 1000-1700 m; Tex.

Variety terlinguensis occurs in the Chisos Mountains.
