Vascular plants of NE US and adjacent Canada
Cal regular, deeply 5-parted; cor bilabiate, distinctly spurred at base, the throat closed by the prominent palate, the 2 upper lobes erect, the 3 lower spreading; stamens 4; fr globose, rupturing into 2 terminal pores that later extend to the base; trailing herbs with alternate, palmately lobed lvs. 10, mostly Mediterranean.
