Hybrid swarm of spp. 3 and 6, for convenience designated with a binomial; scape with small, scaly bracts; petioles conspicuously spreading-hirsute; fls from small and nearly regular to larger and strongly oblique; free part of the hypanthium 1-2 mm; pet greenish, white, or pink, narrower than the sep, subentire or finely toothed; stamens and style exserted. Dry uplands woods and prairies, largely supplanting the original parents in the area where their ranges overlap, from upper Mich. to e. Ind., s. and w. to Tenn., Ark., Kans., Nebr., and Minn.
